| Description: | You are invited to a half day London partnership event for senior managers, commissioners and clinicians entitled "Working Together for Better Mental Health". The event is an opportunity to review developments since the launch of the Department of Health strategy "No Health Without Mental Health" (February 2011) in the context of the environment in 2012. As leaders of London's health and social care, this event will explore how we can build on collaborative working to deliver the requirements for Mental Health set out in the 2012/13 NHS Operating Framework and critically work across organisational boundaries to deliver integrated care. The event will be chaired by David Smith, Director of Health and Adult Services, Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. Dr Hugh Griffiths, National Clinical Director for Mental Health, Department of Health, will be the keynote speaker setting out both the health and social care aspects of mental health policy. There will be an opportunity to focus on four key themes for London in detail: - Dementia care - Mental health models of care - Mental Health payment by results and - Improving access to psychological services (IAPT) The presentations and discussions will support senior health and social care colleagues to take forward their local mental health strategies. |
